Hours and Days of Operation:
Open 8:30am – 4:30pm Wednesday through Sunday.
Closed Mondays & Tuesdays.
Closed New Year’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
Admission Prices: Admission is free.
A unique new museum designed by Navajo architect David Sloan–shaped like a hogan and a tepee–and an interpretive trail, provide information about the tragic history of Fort Sumner and Bosque Redondo Indian Reservation.

Driving Directions:
I-40 to Santa Rosa, south on US 84 to the village of Fort Sumner. Take Hwy 60/84 3 miles east of Fort Sumner, then south 3.5 miles on Billy the Kid Road to the Historic Site.

Nearby Attractions:
As you exit the Historic Site and immediately next door on Billy the Kid Road, stop by the gravesite where the infamous outlaw was buried. Also in Ft. Sumner Village is the Billy the Kid Museum, along with restaurants and antique stores near the intersection of 60/84 heading north towards Santa Rosa.

From Ft. Sumner Village take 84 west to Vaughn on 54 south to Carrizozo and follow signs east to Lincoln Historic Site.
