We are open to the public Monday through Saturday, 9:00 am until 4:00 pm. We are closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.

New Mexico Wildlife Center offers many different ways to learn about and experience nature and wildlife.
Wildlife Education programs are our most popular programs for classrooms and other groups. Audiences meet some of our Ambassador Animals up close and learn about many different topics either at the Center, or offsite in the classroom or other venue. These programs are aligned with state science standards in New Mexico.
Caring Kids is a new program for students in fourth grade. Through a partnership with the Santa Fe Animal Shelter and Humane Society, educators from NMWC and SFASHS visit with students four separate times to discuss Responsibility, Empathy, Safety, and Awareness of the Environment through students’ interest in animals.

River Classroom is a unique program for 5th-10th grade students in Rio Arriba County, and is offered free of charge as it is completely supported by grants and donations.
