Driving Directions:
Take I 25 from Santa Fe into Las Vegas. Take the first exit into Las Vegas, Exit 343, and follow the road signs to NM 518, to Mora, New Mexico. Out of Las Vegas you take NM 518 25 miles north to La Cueva. You will see the Grist Mill at the intersection of NM 518 and NM 442. Turn right at the La Cueva Farm sign onto NM 442. Several hundred feet to the right is the access to the raspberry field. If you do not turn into the field, on the left is the Grist Mill and the Mercantile Building where the La Cueva Store is housed. A sign on the front of the Store identifies it, and the Gardens are to the right of the Store parking lot. The Nursery Sign is further up the highway, turn right on the dirt road, and another right over the cattle guard to the cold frames on your left. NO HERBICIDES OR PESTICIDES ARE USED ON THE CROP, AND CUSTOMERS OFTEN EAT THEIR BERRIES STRAIGHT FROM THE VINE. SIX DIFFERENT VARIETIES OF RASPBERRY (CAROLINAS, AUTUMN BRITTENS AND AUTUMN BLISS, HERITAGE, POLENTAS, AND POLKAS) ARE GROWN ON THE RANCH, EACH WITH A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT FLAVOR AND MATURING AT SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT TIMES.
THE “YOU PICK IT” RASPBERRY FIELD IS OPEN FROM MID-AUGUST UNTIL MID-OCTOBER, BUT THE CROP IS WEATHER DEPENDENT.
