When life happens and puts us in a bad way, normally as homeschoolers we do not have very many options. I have found a few organizations so far that help assist homeschoolers during tough times. You can check them out below. There are also tons of free resources listed within this website for you to utilize.
The first organization is the Homeschool Foundation. They are a charity organization started by the Homeschool Legal Defense Association. They offer different grants to families in need that qualify for them. For example they have a military fund, widows fund, special needs fund, etc. When applying, you can also ask to receive an annual membership to HSLDA for free. Please note that some grants require that you already be a member of HSLDA, and have been home schooling for at least six months.

The second organization is AOP. They have scholarships available to help homeschoolers affected by a medical situation or circumstance, AOP is offering families the opportunity to apply for the Jan Groen Scholarship to help cover the cost of homeschooling materials.

The third organization is AmblesideOnline. They have a Helping Hand Emergency Learning Plan. This is a free, complete, user-friendly curriculum plan for homeschooling families who need support, encouragement and alternatives to the curriculum they’ve lost in a disaster, and also for churches and other groups needing to set up temporary schools for children who may not have been homeschooled. All texts and teaching materials needed to implement this plan are free online. The only things you need are access to a computer and printer, paper and pencil.
