Dinosaur Discoveries: Ancient Fossils, New Ideas is organized by the American Museum of Natural History, New York (amnh.org), in collaboration with the California Academy of Sciences, San Francisco; The Field Museum, Chicago; the Houston Museum of Natural Science; and the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, Raleigh.

Find out how advanced technologies reveal how dinosaurs lived, moved, and behaved!
This exciting exhibition showcases the world of modern paleontology, introducing a dynamic vision of dinosaurs and the scientists who study them. Find out how advanced technologies allow scientists to look at fossils in fresh ways. Examine realistic models and casts, and see dinosaurs walk, run and move their long necks in fantastic computer simulations.

Upcoming Programs
Jaws, Paws, & Claws
Take a closer look at the teeth, claws, and defenses of dinosaurs. Compare hands-on specimens in the Museum of Art gallery on Saturdays between 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Topics rotate between Teeth, Claws, Bony Plates, and Feathers.

Dig Deeper with Dinosaurs
Dig Deeper into the world of New Mexico paleontology with experts from around the state in the Museum of Nature & Science classroom. The program takes place at 2 p.m. on the following Saturdays:

February 22 – “Permian Fossils in Southern New Mexico”, Colin Dunn, Bureau of Land Management

March 28 – ”Coelophysis, the Rise of Dinosaurs”, Gretchen Gurler, Museums at Ghost Ranch

April 25 – “Quay Fossil Beds”, Dr. Axel Hungerbuehler, Mesalands Community College

May 9 – “Cretaceous Mass Extinction”, Dr. Thomas Williamson, New Mexico Museum of Natural History

Dino Nights
Join the Museum of Art for an evening with the dinosaurs. Enjoy a themed guided tour before participating in a hands-on arts and crafts activity for the whole family. The program takes place on the first and third Thursday of the month from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
